Because of the comprehensive nature of the Natural Diversity Data Base (NDDB), the DEP is interested in obtaining new and updated information on critical natural resources from Connecticut's citizens. Please submit field notes, photographs, and a map with detailed locations of state listed species and critical habitats.

Submitted information will be reviewed and those reports that document verifiable reports of species or communities will be incorporated into the Natural Diversity Data Base. Please include your address and telephone number on correspondence sent to the NDDB. 

Please note: The removal of even one individual from a population can affect its survival. Therefore, the collecting of specimens is strongly discouraged and is not allowed on state property without the proper permit.
